A couple of cool friends

I was driving home from a work event tonight when I got a text from my friend Alicia that she had modeled this beautiful dress and ridiculous jacket today for Nordstrom. WHAT?! Yes. It's true. Alicia is a poet with a degree in Creative Writing from the University of Washington and also a professional makeup artist and Laura Mercier brand ambassador. How cool is it that she is my friend and that the day I was building Coco and Theo's bunkbeds she came over for coffee and a long, leisurely chat about writing and creativity, and that just last night I was texting her for brow pencil recommendations?! Alicia's style is off the charts and not only that, she is one of the most genuine, soulful people I know. 

Also so cool is that my friend Charlotte is a total knitting superstar who is crazy talented at writing sock patterns. Honestly, how adorable are these Magic Toadstool socks?! I especially love these because the day I went into labor with Coco, J and I went for a looooong hike through the Zürcher Oberland and on our way we actually saw a mushroom like this. I'm not kidding! It was red with white spots and until that moment (even afterward?!) I had always assumed they were make-believe. Like unicorns! But they're real. Just like my Coco, who was a dream come true. Charlotte has three kids and a very busy life and always manages to be in the moment, carefree and so much fun. She is amazing if you ask me! 

I am so grateful to have amazing friends who keep me inspired to be my very best in my creative endeavors and just in life. Thank you, Alicia and Charlotte! You both rock.
